WellPartners United Way

How it started: 

A few years ago, United Way of the Midlands was helping hundreds of people get healthcare during a one-weekend-a-year event called SC Mission. The turnout was huge it was clear that our community needed access to dental and vision care.

A smarter solution:

With help from amazing partners, they realized there was a better way. In 2016, they opened WellPartners Clinics to provide free dental and vision care five days a week- not just once a year. WellPartners helps anyone in the Midlands who are uninsured, underinsured, or has low income.

The impact:

• Now helping five times more people than they did before.
• Served more than 5,000 patients- adults and kids.
• Provided $2.4 million worth of dental care.
• Provided $250,000 worth of vision services.
• Gave out over 1,000 pairs of glasses.
